Kenneth Lee Singer was born December 26, 1949 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Alex and Darlene (Welch) Singer. He died March 9, 2025 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 75 years.

Ken was raised in the Beresford area where he attended school and loved playing football, baseball and softball. He graduated from Beresford High School before attending the University of South Dakota. Ken married Carolyn Osthus on December 20, 1969.

He joined the US Army and did a tour in Vietnam. Following his discharge he returned to South Dakota. Ken worked in Sioux Falls for Golden Sun, a livestock feed manufacturer, now being operated by Land O'Lakes Purina. He worked for 40 years, retiring in 2016 when he and Carolyn were living in Lincoln, Nebraska. They moved to Alcester where Ken was an avid golfer; he enjoyed playing the Bridges at Beresford course.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Carolyn Singer of Alcester; two sons, Jason (Beth) Singer of Shakopee, MN and Matthew (Jared Henderson) Singer of Wadsworth, IL; two grandchildren, Dane (fiancé Svea) and Evey Singer; his sister, Carol (Larry) Speich of Beresford and niece, Penny Speich. Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

Ken will be interred at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls. The family will celebrate his life on Flag Day, June 14, 2025.
