Kendal S. Frick was born September 21st, 1944 to Stanley and Margaret (Peterson) Frick.  Kendal passed away peacefully in his home June 5th, 2017.

Kendal attended Newdale country school just a short distance from the farm he was raised on; he finished his schooling at Beresford High School. After graduation Kendal attended SDSU for a short period.  He then worked at the Farmers CO-OP and for local farmers.  Kendal soon returned to the farm to spend the rest of his life doing what he loved, farming along side his father and his boys.

Kendal married Carol Bickett on February 27, 1965, and they were blessed with five sons, Jon, Joseph, Brian, Jason and Daniel. Kendal was a role model for his boys in many ways.   The love and respect he had for his best friend, his wife Carol, was one of his greatest virtues.  They were inseparable for over 52 years.

Kendal was generous with his time and was involved in many organizations throughout the years. He was past president of the South Dakota Livestock Feeders Association, 4-H Leader, Clay County Fair President, President of the Beresford Farmers CO-OP, President of the Clay County Rural Water System, Farm Services Association committee advisor, Garfield Township board member and Clay County Planning and Zoning board member.

Kendal was always known to have a smile on his face, and he cherished time with friends and family. He enjoyed being at the lake and flying.  For several years he enjoyed flying his ultra-light aircraft, checking the fields and "buzzing" the neighbors.  Kendal's biggest smile came when his grandchildren were around; he truly adored every one and always had a treat in his pocket.  His Grandchildren Kevin, Brenna, Tyler, Kaden, Brody, Ben, Mason, Autumn, and Abigail treasured their Grandpa.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Carol, his children Jon (Jill) and their children Kevin, Brenna and Tyler, Canton, SD. Brian (Heidi) and their children Kaden, Brody and Ben, Sioux Falls, SD.  Jason, (Hannah) and their children Autumn and Abigail, Beresford, SD.  Daniel (Tiffany) and their son Mason, Hope Mills, NC.

Kendal is survived by his Mother Margaret Frick, Beresford, SD. His brother Keith (Patrice) Frick, Jackson, MN and his sister Pat Frick, Harrisburg, SD.  He is preceded in death by his father Stanley and his son Joseph.
