Katherine "Kay" McKee, age 76, died Monday, September 2, 2019 at Alcester Care & Rehab Center in Alcester, South Dakota. Per Kay's request, a service of remembrance will be arranged for by her children. A Celebration of life will be held on a Saturday September 7th at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden, IA with Rev. Barbara Joy officiating. Lunch will be served with family present afterwards. Notes of sympathy can be sent to Jim or her children.

Kay D. Parvu was born April 7, 1943 in Sioux City, IA to parents Nick and Cleo (Moore) Parvu.  She enjoyed Christmas in July with her family and gardening parties. Kay will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. She worked as a server at Truck Towne in Beresford for many years until back troubles forced her to stop.

She is survived by her husband, Jim McKee; three children, Ella (Ron) Woods, Linda (Jeff) Banks and Bernie (Becky) Welch; two step-children, Clint (Dawn) McKee and Jimmy (Annabelle) McKee; 14 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Welch; and her sister, Marlene (Richard) Jackson; and her beloved dog, Cowboy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Leonard Welch; grandsons, Christopher Welch and Ian Welch; step-daughter, Robin McKee; and her sister, Carolyn Hultquist.
