Katherine M. Graverson was born February 16, 1944 in South Dakota to Amos and Winnifred (Keeler) Grant. She died January 26, 2024 at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Kathy was one of 14 children. She was educated and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1962. Kathy married Dennis Graverson on November 15, 1962 in Beresford. Together they raised their three children, Grant, Gavin and Stacy.

She worked with the lunch program and as a custodian at the Beresford school. Kathy then worked for many years at Bethesda of Beresford as a housekeeper. After her husband died, she continued working and living in Beresford; most recently she lived in Brandon, SD.  Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Gavin Graverson (Dawn Childers) of Sioux Falls; daughter, Stacy (Mike) Tjaden of Beresford; three grandchildren, April (Alex) Welding, Austin Tjaden and Ashton Tjaden; two great-grandchildren, Ari and Arlee; and daughter-in-law, Janet Graverson. Also surviving is her brother, Kenny and three sisters, Vernell, Pat and Velma. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; son, Grant; and her brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life service for Kathy will be 2PM Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with Rev. Janel Fillingsness Bak officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment will take place at Beresford City Cemetery.
