Joyce Corraine Lone Jensen was born April 23, 1930 in Nunda, South Dakota to Conrad and Lillian (Langum) Lone. She died February 27, 2025 in Beresford, South Dakota at the age of 94 years.

Joyce was raised in east central South Dakota, She was baptized and confirmed at Prairie Queen Lutheran Church in Nunda. Joyce received her early education at Brookings and North Prairie Queen Schools and graduated from Rutland High School in 1948. She attended Nettleton Business School in Sioux Falls and worked as a stenographer/bookkeeper for Sweetman Construction in Sioux Falls. Joyce was crowned Miss South Sioux in the Sioux Falls Pageant.  She met Willard Jensen at the Arkota Ballroom in Sioux Falls and they were married June 6, 1954. Together they raised their three sons, Charles, Randall and David.

She taught Sunday school and was active in the women's organizations of St. Paul, Rockfield, and Dalesburg Lutheran Churches. Joyce was a member of an Extension Club, the VFW Auxiliary, Quilt Guild, and Sons of Norway. She also volunteered for the Beresford School District. Of her many interests; she will be remembered as a master quilter, a collector of many things- especially dolls and dishes. She raised elkhounds, was an avid gardener, and loved family gatherings and traveling.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Willard; her in-laws, Richard and Mabel Jensen; two brothers, Curt Lone and Richard Lone; her sister-in-law, LeAnne Lone; her daughter-in-law, Dee Jensen of Glenwood Springs, CO, who died March 2, 2025.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Charles (Rochelle) Jensen of Beresford, Randall (Susan) Jensen of Beresford and David Jensen of Glenwood Springs, CO; six grandchildren, Brooke (Jermiah) Langdon of Sioux Falls, Sarah (Ben) Blaeser of North Sioux City, Conor (Nick Horan) Jensen of Baltimore, MD, Amy (Rob) Lynde of Dakota Dunes, Michael Jensen of Beresford and Alexis Jensen of Glenwood Springs, CO; six great-grandchildren, Brianna and Kaitlyn Langdon, Kate and Claire Blaeser and Brooks and Emma Lynde. Also surviving is her sister, Dona Hansen of Nunda; her sister-in-law, Ruth Lone of Sioux Falls and 14 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joyce will be 2PM Friday, March 14, 2025 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, 30595 University Rd, Vermillion, SD 57069. Visitation will be 5-7PM Thursday, March 13th at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. The family requests memorials be directed to Rockfield Cemetery, 46958 307th St., Beresford, SD 57004.
