JOYCE (CROW) HAGEMANN passed away peacefully with family members present on Jan. 22, 2012 at Bethesda of Beresford S.D. under hospice care. Joyce Hagemann was born December 11, 1928 at Madison S.D. She was the first child of Ray J.Crow and Gertrude M. (Piearson) Crow. Joyce went 11 years to school in Madison S. D. The 12th year at Rutland high school and graduated in 1946. Joyce worked at the Ben Franklin dime store after graduation. Sept. 2, 1947 Joyce married Veryl Hagemann at St. John Lutheran Church in Madison S.D. Joyce and Veryl farmed in the Madison and Erwin area until November 1956. We moved to Redfield, SD on January 1, 1961, we moved to Clark, SD in June 1966 and then moved to Aberdeen, SD and stayed for 37 years. Joyce worked in a real estate office and managed a shoe store. Joyce worked as a teller up to manager of that department. In Feb. 1985 she was offered early retirement and she took the offer. Surviving are her husband Veryl; lifetime friend and cousin Audrey and husband Francis (Bud) Olson Rapid City SD; her children Thomas (Kay), Rapid City, SD, Donald, deceased from Agent Orange, Barbara Wilson, Beresford, SD, William (Maryann), Mableton, GA and John (Victoria), Yankton, SD; 15 grandchildren, John (Camille) and children Tyler, Lindsey, and Carol Lynn; Brent and children Liam and Jasmine; Scott; Kevin and child Ashton; Bobbie (Robert) and child Zachary; Nick (Christie) and children Travis and Mercedes; Jesse (Tawnya) and children Raegan and Mason; Scott (Diane) and children Miranda, Karissa, Jamie and Camille as well as Camille's children Maci and Milo; James; Sandra (Kevin) and children Jake and Kindra; Stacy and child Briston; Summer and child Cadence; Dustin (Laura) and children Raquel and Malikia; Chance; Jordan; Shawna (Adam) and child Landon; and Casey and child Gavin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family members that preceded her in death are her parents, Ray and Gertrude Crow, sister Maxcene, brother Eugene, son Donald, two granddaughters, Kimberly and Andrea, and son in law Robert (Bud) Wilson. Joyce suffered with Parkinson's since 1993. In place of flowers the family suggests memorials to Sanford Hospice, 20 South Plum, Vermillion S.D. 57069-3346, or your favorite Charity in honor of Joyce Hagemann. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, January 26 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. A second memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27 at St. John Lutheran Church in Madison, SD with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Madison.
