Joseph Berst, Jr. passed away on October 15, 2025 at Snohomish, Washington from complications of advanced dementia. He was born on February 16, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington to Joseph Berst, Sr. and Evelyn Ann (Williams) Berst who both preceded him in death.  He graduated from Snohomish High School with the Class of 1961 and after a short stint in the Air Force he became a long-haul truck driver traveling throughout the United States for over 50 years.  He lived most of his life in South Dakota when not on the road.

Burial will be the Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Washington.

Joe is survived by his brother Bill of Snohomish; sister Debbie (Carl) Cottonware of Powell, Wyoming; daughter Jeanna Berst of Wenatchee, Washington; grandson Tony Berst of Sioux Falls, South Dakota along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.  The family also wishes to recognize the commitment shown to Joe by his long-time partner, Gail Snoozy of Beresford, South Dakota.
