John Michael Weck was born May 4, 1959 in San Diego, California to Edward Clarence and Dorothy Louise (Knight) Weck. He died unexpectedly at his home May 17, 2020 in Alcester, South Dakota at the age of 61 years.

John was raised in Carmichael, California where he graduated from La Sierra High School. He worked in the video distribution business for many years where he learned hard work and dedication. John married Shelly Ogden in 1987 and together they raised their two amazing sons in their home state of California. John attended a vocational college where he studied locomotive engineering but knew this career would often take him away from his family and home, so he postponed this dream and began his many year career with Ace Hardware Distribution Center in Rocklin, California, as a supervisor where he retired from in 2017. John later moved to South Dakota with his son Myles to begin his life of retirement.

Following his dad's passion, John was an avid golfer and played as much as he could. He enjoyed keeping current with all sports and liked to spend free time fishing and doing puzzles. He especially loved time with his boys and family and will be remembered as a people person.

John was preceded in death by his niece, both parents, father-in-law, and sister-in-law.

Grateful for sharing in his life is his wife, Shelly Weck of Citrus Heights, CA; his two sons, Myles Weck of Alcester and Mason Weck of Citrus Heights; sister, Barbara of Reno, NV; three nephews and two nieces, two sisters-in-law, three bothers-in-law, and numerous other family and friends.

Celebrations of John's life will be held later, both in Citrus Heights, CA where he will be laid to rest, and in Alcester, SD.

John will forever be loved and forever be missed.
