Jim Darrell Wiese was born August 3, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD to parents Byron and Gladys (Briggle) Wiese. He died July 6, 2012 in Beresford, SD at the age of 61 years, 11 months and three days. Jim was raised in Beresford and graduated from Beresford High School. He joined the US Army and served 18 months in Vietnam attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Beresford where he lived with his parents until buying his own home. He worked with his father and then started his own car restoration and lawnmower and bicycle repair. He was an artist at making old cars look new. Jim was a groundskeeper at the local golf course and worked for a time at the city landfill. He enjoyed flowers and landscaping and was a member of the Beresford VFW and Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors include his step-sister, Karen and husband, Noel Bennett, step-sisters-in-law, Pat Nordquist and Lucy Nordquist and many nieces and nephews. His parents and step-brothers, Duane and Donald preceded him in death. A graveside service with military honors will be 2PM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Beresford City Cemetery, rural Beresford.
