Jerome P. Erickson was born June 4, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa to Paul and Olive (Olson) Erickson. He died November 28, 2023 in a Sioux Falls Hospital at the age of 78 years, five months and 24 days.

He was baptized at Roseni Lutheran Church and raised near Spink, SD. Jerome attended Garryowen Country School and graduated from Alcester High School in 1963. Jerome worked at Otis Radio in Hawarden, Iowa. On July 1, 1967 he married Mary Bowers at Nathanael Lutheran Church in Alcester. They lived in Alcester and raised their daughters, Angie and Shari.

Jerome worked for 40 years at Custom Coils in Alcester. He enjoyed his career so much that after retiring he continued to work parttime as a production manager. When he wasn't at Custom Coils Jerome liked doing yard work and gardening. He loved to play golf with friends and was an active member at Nathanael Lutheran Church. Jerome enjoyed following the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Green Bay Packers.

His parents and one brother, Palmer preceded him in death.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 56 years, Mary Erickson; two daughters, Angie and Michael Wolpensinger and Shari and Garney Henle; one grandson, Connor Henle; sister-in-law, Janice Erickson; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends, Tim and Nola Chance and John and Glenda Dunlap.

Memorial services will be 10:30AM Monday, Dec. 4, 2023 at Nathanael Lutheran Church in Alcester. Visitation is 5-7PM Sunday, Dec. 3rd at Nathanael with a prayer service at 7PM.
