Jennifer Ann (Johnson) Ellingson was born October 16, 1971 in Portsmouth, VA to Bruce and Anita (Anderson) Johnson.  She died surrounded by family and friends on August 6, 2017 at her home in rural Beresford, SD at the age of 45 years, 9 months and 20 days.

When she was six weeks old her family moved to the Spink, SD area where she attended Alcester elementary school.  In 7th grade, her family moved to the Beresford area where she graduated from High School.  Jennifer attended SDSU in Brookings and worked at Falcon Plastics as a material handler, lead person, and then quality control.  She received her cosmetology degree from Lake Area Tech in Watertown in 1996.  She worked at JC Penneys for 6 years and the following 14 years at Kari's Kuts "N Kurls in Beresford.    She met Patrick Ellingson cutting his hair.  They were married October 7, 2000.  Her sons Caden and Brock brought many joys to her life.

Jennifer was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was currently a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Beresford Ladies Bible Study.  After Jennifer completed treatment for her first bout with breast cancer she began running.  She was proud of this and hoped to inspire others fighting cancer.  She ran two 5K's and the 2015 Frostbite 4.  Jennifer let her faith shine to the glory of God.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Patrick and two sons Caden and Brock all of Beresford; her parents Bruce and Anita Johnson, Beresford; brother Wade (Deb) Johnson, Beresford; father and mother-in-law Tom and Miranda Ellingson, Sioux Falls; 2 brothers-in-law Christopher Ellingson, Dayton, OH and Nickolas (Erin) Ellingson, Sioux Falls; 7 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, August 11, 2017 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Beresford with burial to follow at Zion Cemetery, rural Beresford.  Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 5PM to 7PM. In lieu of flowers an Ellingson family fund has been established at Wells Fargo in Beresford.
