Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Jeffrey Hedeen was born April 3, 1957 in Hudson, SD to parents Darrel and Elaine (Hustrulid) Hedeen. He died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 49 years and six months. Jeffrey was raised in the Beresford area attending Danefield rural school. He graduated from Beresford High School in 1975. Jeff worked at the Amoco gas station in Beresford until 1984 when he started farming with his brother, Dan. They farmed southwest of Beresford. Jeff loved to farm and he liked to drive around checking the fields. On March 2, 2005 Jeff married Wendy Norrod. Survivors include his wife, Wendy Hedeen; three sons, James and Mason Hedeen and Dillon Steever all of Beresford; one stepson, Jay Walz of Beresford; one daughter, Rachel Hedeen of Alcester; one stepdaughter, Alyssia Norrod of Beresford; his mother, Elaine Hedeen of Beresford; two brothers, Dan (Holly) Hedeen and Tim (Maureen) Hedeen all of Beresford; two sisters, Sandra (David) Van Ballegooyen of Beresford and Debra (Rodney) Hughes of Harrisburg; one grandson, Gavin Hedeen; six nephews and three nieces.
