Jeanne Meaddows, age 86, of Centerville, SD died June 24, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27th at Centerville United Church of Christ. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Jeanne McAthie Meaddows was born February 10, 1922 in Centerville, SD to parents George and Venice (Lowrie) McAthie. She died June 24, 2008 in Centerville at the age of 86 years, four months and 14 days. Jeanne was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Sioux City, Iowa prior to moving to California. She married James Mickey Meaddows in 1945. After her husbands death, Jeanne and her children returned to Centerville. She worked for Royal Bakery for many years, retiring at age 84. She loved to host taco parties for friends and family. Jeanne also enjoyed league bowling until her arthritis made it difficult, and most recently, doing circle word puzzles. Jeanne is survived by her son, Clark (Laura) Meaddows of Sioux Falls; daughter, Margaret Meaddows; adopted daughters, Ardie Lippert and Barbara Dinesen; and sister, Peggy Wood all of Centerville; grandsons, Tyler and Jonathan Leise and great-granddaughter, Aliyah Leise. Her parents; brothers, Jim and William; and sister, Mary Ann preceded her in death.
