Jamie Lynne Cotton Gravely was born November 30, 1978 in Yankton, South Dakota to Thomas and Jan (Diefendorf) Cotton. She died due to complications from cancer January 25, 2021 at her home in Beresford, SD at the age of 42 years.

Jamie was raised in Beresford where she attended school, graduating from Beresford High School in 1997. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of South Dakota. Jamie was united in marriage to Justin Gravely on October 11, 2003 at Lands Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Beresford. Jamie worked at Dan Cotton Chevrolet and Eastway Auto in Beresford. She worked in Dietary at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls from 2008 until 2013 when she started working at Bethesda in Beresford.

She will be remembered as a gift giver and as the family organizer. Jamie liked decorating and design and was very good at all types of craft projects. She was excellent at capturing moments in time with family and friends with a camera at the ready. Jamie enjoyed scrapbooking and making memory books with all the pictures she took. She liked road trips and to travel and loved live music, especially Eric Church concerts.

Grateful for having shared her life is her husband of 17 years, Justin; her son, Creed; her parents, Tom and Jan Cotton; and her grandmother, Edna Cotton; and her in-laws, Norm and Theola Gravely all of Beresford. Also surviving Jamie are her two sisters, Laurie (Curt) Van Beek of Sioux Center, IA and Whitnie (Matt) Boyer of Hudson, SD; niece and nephews, Gage Van Beek and Reed and Emma Boyer; sister-in-law, Crissy (Levi) Strong of Sioux Falls and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford, SD. Visitation with the family present will be 5-7PM Friday at the church with a prayer service at 7PM. The family requests memorials to assist with Creed's college education.
