IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Michael
Pfister
November 12, 1955 – April 12, 2023
James M. Pfister, 67, passed away at home with family by his side, after a brief battle with liver cancer. Jim was born and raised in upstate New York. He loved to spend time out in the woods when his family would go to their cabin in the mountains. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and was very proud to be a Veteran. When he was discharged, he moved to South Dakota where he worked mainly as a welder. He enjoyed going to church at the UCC Church in Centerville. He loved helping people with projects they were doing. He was always willing to give people a hand up but not a hand out. He loved riding his motorcycle and would often take trips to Omaha on the weekends during the summer. He was most proud of the fact that he was a single father to 3 adopted children. In 2019 he married his best friend of 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Stephanie and 3 children Reese, Quincy, and Amaya; one granddaughter; and his brothers Charlie, Robert, and sister Margy.
There are no services planned at this time as his wishes are to be taken back to New York.
We would like to thank all of Jim's family and friends for their support and prayers at this difficult time.
