Jake went to high school in Beresford, SD and graduated in 2000. All through-out high school, Jake was known for his excellent athletic abilities; He played football, and was a championship winner for his high school weight lifting team. After graduating from high school, Jake attended SDSU for one year, then transferred to USF, where he studied Exercise Science. He was a fullback for both university football teams. Jake then attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota, earning a Bachelor's in Human Biology as well as a Doctorate in Chiropractic.

In 2009, he moved to Boise, Idaho, where he opened his first Chiropractic clinic and began his career as an amazing Chiropractor! This same year he met the love of his life, Orquidia, who at the time was a barista at his local coffee shop; they married in April of 2018. Jake and his business partner opened Upright Chiropractic in 2018, which quickly became very successful - this was his pride and joy. Additionally, in 2022, he took a leap of faith and opened an additional business with his wife, Boise Softwave.

Jake was a dedicated husband and he treasured each of his fur babies, Francine (Franky), Cooper and Cici the bunny- he embraced every moment with his wife. He was an amazing cook, and anyone who tasted his food instantly became a fan. He loved being in the kitchen and creating recipes that flowed from his heart straight into the pan - to taste his food was to taste his love! Jake had a vivacious personality and always made people around him laugh! Jake made friends everywhere he went and all of his patients loved him. Jake could do anything he put his mind to and had the resilience to keep going even when things got tough.

In his free time, and because of his love for travel, Jake decided to take a job at the airport as a Ramp Agent. During this time, Jake and Orquidia took several spontaneous day trips throughout the US, but the best part about this job was all the new friendships! He also enjoyed mountain biking, hunting and fishing, he even participated in one half Iron Man, and ran several half marathons.
