Jack Alden Lawrence was born March 4, 2003 in Mitchell, SD to parents Tim Lawrence and Gina Mondry. He died November 15, 2014 near Flandreau, SD. Jack moved with his parents to Beresford and was currently in the 6th Grade at Beresford Middle School. He was outgoing with a contagious smile. Jack loved the people around him and had true concern for the well being of his family and friends. He enjoyed building things with Legos and playing basketball. His passion in life was baseball. He played in the Beresford Youth Baseball Program and was involved in the Augustana Baseball Program to improve his skills and get better as a player in the game he loved. He attended his first Major League game this summer in Kansas City and avidly followed the Royals as they played in the World Series. Jack's faith in God was very important to him. He prayed every day and sought the peace that only a relationship with God can bring. God bless Jack and the memories he gave to us. He is survived by his parents, Tim Lawrence and Gina Mondry of Beresford; two sisters, Olivia and Moira Weigel; four brothers, Hayden Weigel and Mason, Alex, and Joshua Lawrence; maternal grandparents, Don and Carol Mondry of Lake Wilson, MN, paternal grandparents, Mary Lawrence of Beresford and Robert Barr of Hawarden, IA; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and special friend Michael Shegrud. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 20 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Beresford. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 5PM to 8PM with a wake service at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Beresford Youth Baseball Program. A memorial fund in Jack's name has been established at First Savings Bank in Beresford.
