Inger Hansen was born in Denmark on November 12, 1921 to parents Ludwig and Eli Nielsen. She died March 1, 2013 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 10 days. Inger came to the United States with her parents in 1924. She graduated from High School in Creighton, NE and attended Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne NE. She taught in rural schools in Knox County, NE. Inger married Raymond Hansen in 1943 and they farmed until 1965 when they moved to Norfolk, NE. The couple moved to Lincoln, NE after Ray's retirement and moved to Beresford, SD in 2005 to be near family. Inger was baptized in Stege, Moen, Denmark, was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church near Plainview, NE, and was currently attending Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. She enjoyed baking, quilting, putting puzzles together and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Hansen, daughter-in-law Sharon Hansen and brother-in-law Merle Milne. Survivors are her two sons, James Hansen of Hurricane, WV and Rev. Robert (Suzanne) Hansen, Sioux Falls, SD; sister Doris Milne, Creighton, NE; brother Dale (Mary) Nielsen, Creighton, NE; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 7 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford, SD, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Committal services will be 3:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, Creighton, NE.
