Harriett Theodora Johnson was born September 4, 1916, in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Emil T. and Margaret (Sjoquist) Johnson and entered into the presence of Jesus on November 2, 2010, at the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 28 days.
On January 18, 1942, Harriett married Merlin Phillip Waggoner. They resided in Alcester and Hawarden until Merlins death on October 31, 1992. Harriett moved to the Alcester Manor and later became a resident at the Alcester Care Center where she resided until the present time.
Harriett was a faithful member of Hawarden Baptist Church and Alcester Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family dearly.
Harrietts family includes two sons and their wives, Bart & Jan Waggoner of Glendora, California, and Phil & Bev Waggoner, of Charleston, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Robin Ann Fabros, Chad Waggoner, and Brady Waggoner and four great grandchildren, Emma, Aliah, Sousa and Juddy. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Johnson of Alcester and Everett Johnson of Arlington, Virginia; two sisters, Isabel Babb of Lansing, Michigan, and Mary Jane Peterson of Denison, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin, sister Mae, twin sister Helen, and one sister in infancy.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Alcester Baptist Church.
