Harriet K. Hansen, 89, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Centerville Care & Rehab.  A private family service will be held at at Immanuel Free Lutheran Church, rural Centerville, with Pastor Arlyn Abrams officiating, followed by burial at Holland Cemetery, west of Centerville.

Harriet Katherine Holm was born February 27, 1932 to Harl and Marie (Danielsen) Holm on their family farm east of Irene, SD.  She attended country school and graduated from the Irene High School in 1949.  After graduation she attend Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa and received a 2-year teaching certificate.  She taught at Ireland (One-room country school) in Clay County and 5 ^th and 6 ^th grade in the Viborg Public School.

On September 25, 1955, she married Jerald Hansen of Centerville, SD.  They raised their two sons, Bill and Scott, on their farm west of Centerville.  Harriet was known for her good cooking with always plenty of food for family and friends.  It was always a treat when she brought food to the field during planting and harvest seasons.

Her family, six grandchildren and eleven+ great-grandchildren were very special to her.  She appreciated her church family and friends.  She was active in her church and with Gideons International.

She is survived by her sons, Bill (Jan) Hansen and Scott (Kristi) Hansen of Centerville; grandchildren, Eric (Lindsey) Hansen, Stephanie (Gabe) Slater, Katie (Austin) Dale, Brian (Natalie) Hansen, Keri (Chris) Bell and Lee Hansen; and great-grandchildren, Peyton & Will Hansen, Sadie & Sienna Slater, Carter, Brielle, Zoey & baby Dale, Rowan & Ryker Hansen, Rylee Bell and Hayden Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerald; brothers, Harlan Holm and his wife Josephine and Kermit Holm and his wife Phyllis; and nephew, James Holm.
