Arlin O. "Guy" Hanson, Jr. was born April 20, 1961 in Glendale, California to Arlin O. Hanson, Sr. and Marianne Yeo. He died Friday, January 16, 2015 in Beresford, South Dakota at the age of 53 years, eight months and 26 days. Guy married Diane Bruno in Apple Valley, CA January 3, 1987. They made their home in Vermillion, SD for 19 years. He received his Associate degree in Nursing at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Guy worked as a Registered Nurse for Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls as a flight nurse. His workdays were spent on a helicopter or airplane caring for critically ill patients or in the emergency room of the hospital. He was a member of the Flight Nurse Association and active at Roseni Lutheran Church in rural Beresford, SD. In his in free time he loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with the grandkids. Guy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Diane C. Hanson of Burbank, SD; five daughters, Rebecca (Tony) Kronaizl of Vermillion, Katelin Hanson (Karl Brewer) of Vermillion, Kayliana Hanson of Burbank, Jennifer (Jon) Holman of Burbank and Carrie Jo (Austin) Steinberg of Yankton; mother, Marianne Saur of Burbank; brother, William (Susan) Hanson of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Donna (Bryce) Jensen of Beresford; brother, Michael (Karen) Saur of Katy, TX and his father, Arlin O. Hanson, Sr. of Beresford. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abby Holman, Emma and Cole Kronaizl, Karly Brewer, Ariana and Bently Steinberg; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10AM Friday, January 23, 2015 at Roseni Lutheran Church, 47226 307th Street Beresford. Visitation with the family present will be 6-8PM Thursday at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
