Gregg Patrick Lyle, 63, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020, surrounded by his 5 children, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2020 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Beresford, SD.  Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, July 5 at the church, followed by a prayer service and time of sharing at 6:00 PM.

Gregg Patrick was born December 4, 1956 in Yankton, South Dakota to William and Patricia (Christopher) Lyle. He grew up on a farm in rural Beresford and graduated from Beresford High School in 1975. Gregg excelled in athletics- football and wrestling, placing 2 ^nd in state wrestling as a junior (74) and 3 ^rd as a senior (75). After graduation he worked for the Miami Dolphins as Co-Assistant Equipment Manager with his brother, Luke.

Gregg's extensive career included carpentry and construction, where he worked for many years as a road construction superintendent, including nearly 20 years with Penhall Company. The International Grooving & Grinding Association presented Gregg with the Iron Man Award for dedication and service to the industry in 2010 based on his leadership and lasting contributions.

Known for his contagious laugh, Gregg always had a ready smile, quick wit, endless stories, jokes and hilarious sayings. Gregg never met a stranger and established lifelong friends wherever he went. He was an avid golfer, skilled hunter and everlasting Dolphins fan. Many will miss him and keep his spirit alive indefinitely.

Gregg is survived by his 5 children: Samantha and Erinn (and their mother, Lisa), Anthony (Brittany), Arianna (Theodore) and Jared (and their mother, Angela); 6 grandchildren: Asher, Afton, Tate, Oliver, Murphy and Lucien; his mother, Patricia; 11 siblings: Sharon (Tim) Schoepp, Pam Sullivan, Joe (Janette), Mike, Luke, Mary Ellen (Paul) Saugstad, Jeff (Karen), Kathryn (Larry) Bork, Ted (Julie), Lisa (Kevin) Harms and Dan (Becky), plus a myriad of additional family and friends.

He is preceded by his father, William; sister-in-law, Nancy; nephew, Caleb; and great-nephew Zachary Wiebers.
