Greg Nelson was born on October 14, 1962 to Victor and Dorathy Nelson. He died on February 1, 2022 at the age of 59 years old.

He was born and raised in Anthon, Iowa. Greg graduated from Anthon- Otto High School in 1980. After graduation he moved to Correctionville, Iowa to begin his passion for farming. Greg farmed there until he moved to the Alcester area in 1993. It was then he met his wife, Audra, and they married in 1995. They continued to live on a farm in rural Alcester until his passing.

Greg is survived by his wife, Audra, of 26 years; five children, Tyleen (Landon) Nygard of Alcester, SD, Monica (Zach) Nelson of Centerville, SD, Tyler, Ashley, and Cory Nelson all of Alcester, SD; and two grandchildren, Addelyn and Autumn. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be 5-7PM Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Wass Funeral Chapel in Alcester with a prayer service at 7PM. Funeral services will be 2PM Monday, Feb. 7 ^th at Nathanael Lutheran Church in Alcester with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery
