Funeral services for Glenn Knutson will be held 2PM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville. Visitation will be Monday from 2PM to 8PM, family present from 7PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7:30PM at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville. Glenn Knutson was born January 22, 1913 near Centerville, SD to parents Thomas and Amy (Lunning) Knutson. He died January 26, 2007 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg, SD at the age of 94 years and four days. Glenn graduated from Frog Creek School in Clay County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Glenn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was currently a member at Scandia Lutheran Church. He married Ragna Jacobsen in her parents home in Irene, SD on March 4, 1936. The couple farmed near Centerville and had 4 children. They celebrated 70 years of marriage last spring prior to Ragnas death on July 8, 2006. Glenn was the oldest of eight children; he was an inventor and loved to work with his hands building machinery and church furniture. He was President of Clay County Cattle Feeders Assoc., a member of the SD Conservation Golden Honor Roll and received the Swift & Co. Founder Centennial Award for outstanding leadership in the livestock industry. He liked to watch rodeos, the Minnesota Twins and the news on television. Glenn loved to visit, sharing jokes and memories with everyone he met. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn is survived by one daughter, Charlene Wolsky and husband Dave of Watertown; two sons, Bill Knutson and wife Judy of Centerville and Glyndon Knutson and wife Mary of Centerville; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Clare Knutson and his wife Marjorie of Centerville and one sister, Dorothy Ekern and her husband Dean of Flandreau. His parents; wife; one daughter, Yvonne; two sisters, Juna Knutson and Avonelle Hinseth; and three brothers, Elwyn, Tom, Jr. and Sidney preceded him in death.
