Glenn Earl Jensen was born March 29th, 1962 in Hawarden, Iowa to Bruce E. and Joyce L. (Skinner) Jensen. He passed peacefully on February 9, 2024 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his family at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls at the age of 61 Years, 10 Months, and 10 Days.

Glenn was raised just south of Alcester, South Dakota with his four sisters and one brother. He graduated from Alcester High School in 1980 and joined the US Navy. Glenn married Christine Draeger in 1982. Upon his discharge he returned to South Dakota. He worked in multiple trades, including as a plumber/electrician for many years, and most recently with an organic fertilizer company based out of Yankton.

Glenn filled his time with friends and family. He could usually be found in his shop working on various projects, from his motorcycles to the Chevy S10 he was rebuilding for the upcoming racing season.

Glenn had a laugh that could fill a room, a heart that melted in the presence of a child, and a light inside that can never be replaced.

His parents, son SPC Dennis G. Jensen, and sister Judy Whitehead preceded him in death.

Glenn is survived by his daughter, Melissa and Son-in-law Heath Kastein, step-daughter Samantha Grome and her partner Anthony Weiner, and step-grandson, Camden Austin, Step-son Hunter Kathol; sisters Debbie Jensen, Millie (Greg) Klopstad, and Patti (Matt) Williams, brother Walter (Rebecca) Jensen, and brother-in-law John Whitehead.

Memorial services will be 10AM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Alcester United Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
