Glen was born February 9, 1932, to parents Arvid and Edith (Backlund) Lindblom at their farm home southwest of Beresford. He left school in ninth grade to help his brother farm due to his father's illness. Glen was always proud of his Swedish heritage with all four grandparents being born in Sweden.
He married Irene Severson on October 5, 1950, in rural Beresford. The couple farmed together by Vermillion for ten years and bought a farm east of Beresford where they resided and farmed for 53 years and raised their three daughters. The couple then moved to Beresford after retirement from their lifetime farming career which he loved.
His faith and church family were very important to him. He was a lifetime member of Dalesburg Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served on the church board. He also spent many hours listening to gospel music. Glen always put a smile on everyone's face he met. His humorous and unique sayings were unforgettable. He loved spending time with family and attending all their school activities along with family functions. He had many special friends and coffee buddies who shared lasting memories.
Blessed to have been a part of his life are his wife, Irene; his children, Rita and husband Doug of Beresford, Renae and husband Rick of Parkston, and Robin and husband John of Clark. His three daughters blessed him with another seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Matthew (Mikala Larsen) Adams and their son, Wesley; Jill Adams and her son, Dayshon; Lucas (Katie) Adams and their children, Finley, Maya, Hattie, and Lucy; Ryan Bigge and his son, Landon; Rachel (Chase) Hirt and their children, Jaxon and Lyvia; Michael Brown; and Derek Brown. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Marlys (Don) Hass, Karen Severson and Jeannette Severson; and brother- in- law, Jerry (Marylin) Severson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Lindblom; an infant sister, Helen; and brothers-in-law, Gordon Severson and Russell Severson.
