Geraldine 'Gerry' Coffman, age 66, of Beresford, SD entered into Heaven November 25, 2008 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Gerry was born July 10, 1942 in rural Beresford, SD to H. J. and Ida (Hongslo) Henle. She graduated from Beresford High School in 1960 and married Cherlan H. Coffman on February 18, 1965. After Cherlan's retirement from the Navy, they returned to Beresford to raise their family. Gerry worked at several area businesses including: Sioux Steam, Woodfield Center, First Savings Bank, and Printing Plus.
Gerry enjoyed homemade sentiments, crafts and sewing; and loved music and travelling. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Cherlan; and brother, LeRoy Henle.
Gerry brought much joy and laughter to her friends and surviving family who will always miss and love her: her daughter, Sheri (Steve) Oswald of Beresford; three sons, Chuck (Pam) Coffman of Beresford, Greg Coffman of Chicago and special friend, Julie Stewart of Phoenix and Sean (Jamee) Coffman of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren, Jacqlyn, Amanda, Ali, Stephen, Morgan, Gage and Jayda; three sisters, Mary Ellen Hustrulid of Beresford, Joan English of Omaha and Lucille Zimmerman of Wilmar, MN; two brothers, Don (Donna) Henle and Bill (Kay) Henle all of Sioux Falls; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
