Funeral services for Geraldine Bovill will be 2PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Romsdal Lutheran Church, rural Beresford, SD. Visitation will be 2-8PM Friday at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6-8PM and a prayer service at 7PM. Geraldine was born August 10, 1921 in Lincoln County, SD to parents Morten and Emma (Narum) Rommereim. She died April 26, 2011 at Bethesda of Beresford at the age of 89 years, eight months and 16 days. Geraldine was baptized and confirmed at Romsdal Lutheran Church. She attended country school and graduated from Beresford High School in 1939 where she was Homecoming queen. She received her teaching certificate at Aberdeen, SD and started her 35 year teaching career. Geraldine taught elementary classes in many area schools. She married Roy Bovill in December 1945 at Romsdal Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Pleasant Study Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Geraldine's life membership at Romsdal Lutheran Church included participation in the church choir and WELCA. She was involved with Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and liked to travel. Survivors include her children, Gary Bovill and his wife Linda of Beresford and Kathy Anderson of Virginia City, NV; three grandchildren, John (Sara) Bovill of Beresford, Mark (Karla) Bovill of Alcester and Kim (Paul) Hofer of Lennox; and six great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband Roy, and brother Curtis Rommereim, preceded her in death.
