Frances "Sis" Preheim was born January 10, 1917 to Paul and Emma (Smith) Wiese. She died February 27, 2012 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 95 years, one month and 17 days. Sis was raised in the Centerville area and graduated from Centerville High School in 1936. She married Emerson Preheim in 1938. They had one son, Gary Preheim. She worked in Irene, Viborg and Centerville for many years. The couple also owned Sis & Em's Restaurant in the 1970's in Centerville. Sis was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church in Centerville and she enjoyed gardening and crafts. Sis loved spending time with her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son; parents; three brothers, Lester Wiese, Kenneth Wiese and her twin, Franz Wiese; and two sisters, Ruth Fokken and Velma Wiese. She is survived by her grandsons, Brad (Kim) Preheim and Bryan Preheim; step grandsons Kevin, Corey and Brady Ellis; four great-grandchildren, Meghanne, Derek, Kaylie and Anna; many nieces, nephews and friends. Sis and her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the employees of the Centerville Good Samaritan Center, Centerville Medical Clinic, Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Centerville Ambulance and Avera Home Care for the wonderful care and friendship they have given her over the years. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, March 3, 2012 at First English Lutheran Church, Centerville, with burial at Riverview Cemetery, rural Centerville. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Please direct any memorials to the Centerville Good Samaritan Center or Centerville Ambulance in her memory.
