Obituary

Funeral services for Floyd Lowman will be at 10:30AM Friday, December 11, 2009 at First English Lutheran Church in Centerville. Visitation will be from 2-8PM Thursday at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6-8PM and a prayer service at 7PM.

Floyd Wayne Lowman was born October 10, 1927 in Centerville, SD to Clifford and Esther (Rist) Lowman. He died December 7, 2009 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 82 years, one month and 27 days.

Floyd was baptized at First English Lutheran Church Dec. 4, 1928. He attended Frog Creek School and Centerville High School. Following graduation he served in the US Army from 1946-1947, where he was stationed in Japan for 18 months. When he was honorably discharged, he returned to Centerville and began farming. Floyd married Eleanor Mae Almquist February 25, 1951. They moved into Centerville in 1984. Eleanor died in September of 2000.

He was a member of the Centerville Frank Holcombe American Legion Post 43 and Beresford VFW Post 2875. Floyd enjoyed playing cards, going on bus trips and visiting Branson, MO.

He is survived by his three daughters, Pamela Nelson and her husband, Roger, Linda Lowman and Rhonda Dangel; four grandchildren, Deb Pritchett and her husband, Scott, Peggy Dahlin and her husband, Gerald, Matthew Dangel and Benjamin Dangel; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Brad Pritchett and Megan and Madeline Dahlin. His parents, wife, and sister, Priscilla Albers preceded him in death.
