Ella Marie German was born December 16, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls on her Daddy's birthday. Ella died January 11, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital from complications with RSV due to an underlying heart condition. Ella was 2 years old and currently resided in Alcester with her mom and dad.

Ella entered the world in a traumatic way and wasn't supposed to live more than 3 days. However, Ella was a fighter and continued to surpass the doctor's expectations. Ella was diagnosis with Cerebral Palsy and went to physical and occupational therapy to work on the things we take for granted like rolling over, sitting up, eating, and walking. Ella always impressed her therapists. Ella got really good at holding her head up when she was on her tummy. Tummy time was her favorite! Most recently Ella was learning to walk in a gait trainer.

Ella loved playing with her Minnie Mouse doll that was switch operated. She could play with Minnie all by herself. Ella's favorite thing to do was to cuddle with mommy and daddy. Ella loved to be held and talked to by her parents.

Ella was a bright light and she touched many people's lives the 2 short years she was here with us. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Ella is survived by her parents, Andy and Paige German; her paternal grandparents, Gerard and Becky German; her paternal great-grandfather, Christ Anderson; her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Joy Metzger; her uncles and aunts: Chris German, Nick and Kelsey German, Cole and Caitlyn German, Tyler German, Tyler Metzger, Logan and Hollyanne Metzger and Jake and Hailey Powers; and her cousin Levi German.

Ella was preceded in death by her uncle Justin Metzger; and her great-grandparents, Clarence and Marcella German, Deloris Anderson, Silas and Della Metzger and Harold and Lois Zimmerman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church, Beresford, SD.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, January 15 at Brooklyn Free Evangelical Church.
