Obituary

Ella Marjorie Duerst, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2011 in Mesa, AZ. Ella was born in Akron, IA on June 29, 1916 to Clarence and Ella Pike. She spent her younger years in Beresford, SD. She worked at Dorothy's Apparel for several years and continued employment after the purchase by Bill and Fern Vermillion. She married Elmer Duerst on August 7, 1945 and enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his death on June 14, 1986. Ella was fortunate to have traveled and enjoy living near family in Sioux Falls, SD; Colorado Springs, CO; Las Vegas, NV; and finally Mesa, AZ. She especially enjoyed a Mexican Cruise with all her family. Ella is survived by her son Allen Duerst and his wife Jeanette; Granddaughters, Tami Ivers and husband Skot and Teresa Parker and husband Jeff; Great grandchildren, Mikayla, Kelsey, and Kody Ivers and Aaron( wife Kelsey) and Shane Parker; Sister Odalite Erickson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all her family and friends. God saw you getting weary, A cure was not to be, He put his arms around you, and whispered: Come with me.
