Edna Cotton was born August 12, 1928 to parents Ingvard and Nellie (Hansen) Johansen. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side March 9, 2025 at the age of 96.

Edna married Dan Cotton on February 1, 1946; to this union four children were born.

She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma and friend. Edna loved Spring when her lawn was so green and her beautiful flowers were in bloom. She will be remembered sitting in the sun and watching birds.

Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Dan; son, Barry Cotton; granddaughter, Jamie Cotton Gravely; her parents and one sister, Agnes Lee.

She is survived by her sons, Tom (Jan) Cotton and Brian (Jo) Cotton both of Beresford; her daughter, Jane (Irv) Smith of Collins, NY; daughter-in-law, Linda Cotton of Beresford; grandchildren, Brad Cotton, Laurie (Curt) Van Beek, Justin (Julia Disburg) Gravely, Whitnie (Matt) Boyer, Jesse (Dayna) Smith, Jenny Smith, Jake (Laura) Smith, Jody (Kelli) Smith, Ty (Ashley) Cotton, Holden (Jenny) Cotton and Hunter (Megan) Cotton; 12 great-grandchildren, with #13 to be born in April; and one great-great-grandchild.

Following Edna's wishes, a family graveside service at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery will be held.
