Ed Scheuring, age 63, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Washington, DC. The funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Beresford with Father Scott Trainer as celebrant. Visitation will be at the church from noon to 2:00 pm. Edmond John Scheuring was born in Beresford, South Dakota on March 12, 1944, the second oldest child of seven children of Leo and Dorothy Scheuring. Shortly after graduating from Beresford High School he enlisted in the Air Force, which was a career for him for 20 years, including serving a tour in Thailand. He lived in a number of major cities in the United States over the years. He also earned a Bachelors degree from Minot State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He owned a number of horses at different times in his life and his love of animals was always apparent. He was an avid reader of Western novels, enjoyed music and photography, had a flare for writing and was interested in world history. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo Scheuring and Dorothy Scheuring-Brewer, and an infant twin brother, Ted. He is survived by his daughter, Sara (Michael) Teichelmann of Woodway, TX, brothers Michael(Charlotte) Scheuring of Yankton, Tom Scheuring of Yankton, Jim Scheuring of Vancouver, WA, and sisters Mary (Charles) Mahoney of Dunnellon, FL, Ann(Michael)Hill of St. Paul, MN, and Phyllis Christiansen of Yankton, as well as nieces and nephews.
