Funeral services for Edith will be at 10: 00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, SD. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville. Edith Lindvall was born October 18, 1911 in Ft. Pierre, SD to parents Edward and Emma (Carlson) Welsh. She died April 2, 2007 at Good Samaritan Center in Centerville, SD at the age of 95 years, five months and 14 days. Edith received her education at Milbrook School in Lincoln County and Centerville High School. She received her nursing degree at Mercer Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. Edith returned to South Dakota and married Richard Lindvall on December 21, 1947. She worked as a nurse in Viborg and Centerville. They farmed west of Centerville for many years. Following Richards death she moved into Centerville. She was a member of Scandia Lutheran Church, the Country Garden and Opal Rebekha No. 80. Many nieces and nephews survive Edith, including one niece, Bobby Lewis of Sioux Falls and one nephew, Steve (Rita) Welsh of Centerville. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Gladys Welsh of Lake San Marcus, CA. Her parents, her husband, four brothers, Carl, Howard, Warren and Clifford, two sisters, Elizabeth and Marian preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, Edith requests memorials to the Richard and Edith Lindvall Scholarship Fund.
