Dwight Eugene Wetrosky was born July 12, 1927 to parents Elmer and Ruth (Eberhard) Wetrosky in Merrill, IA.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Peace Lutheran on June 14, 1942.

On May 28, 1950 he was united in marriage to Wava Mickelson at Grand Valley Lutheran Church, rural Canton, SD.  In 1961, Dwight and Wava purchased a farm near Alcester and they became members of Nathanael Lutheran in February, 1961, where he served on the church council and choir.

He was a member of the FHA Board, 18 year-member of the Alcester Township board, Lion's Club, and Alcester Community Chorus.    He loved spending time with his friends at morning coffee at Cenex and at the Senior Citizen's center.  He enjoyed playing cards, playing pool, bowling, and Senior Golf League on Tuesday mornings.  After achieving 2 hole-in-one's at the Alcester Golf Course, he was told, he "must have been a good player," he replied, "not so much, I was a lucky guy."  He also enjoyed spending the winters with Becky in Rapid City, Lorrie in Denver and Jolene in Pittsburgh, where he was blessed to enjoy quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dwight is survived by his daughters, LaZanne Wetrosky, Jolene Witt, Becky (Jim) Trudeau and Lorrie (Larry) Reeves; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Stene; and brother, Lowell Wetrosky.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Wava; his parents; sisters, Verda Akland and Irene Fickbohm; and brothers, Clinton Wetrosky and Don Wetrosky.
