Dwight Sundstrom was born November 11, 1955 in Hudson, South Dakota to Wesley and Aileen LaVonne (Johnson) Sundstrom. He died June 19, 2020 at his home in rural Alcester, SD at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 8 days.

Dwight was raised on the family farm west of Beresford, SD and attended Glenwood country school before graduating from Beresford High School in 1974. He worked as a tire mechanic all of his career. Dwight started at Fountain, Inc. in Beresford, an International Harvester implement dealership, and worked there until it closed in 1985. He also did tire work at Truck Towne and in Sioux Falls before working at Jet in Beresford. When his diabetes became more serious, he spent his time on his acreage west of Alcester working on tractors and lawn mowers. Dwight loved to tinker with engines and breathe new life into old machines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dustin.

Dwight is survived by his son, Nicholas Sundstrom of Sioux Falls; his brother, David Sundstrom of Beresford and several cousins.

A service of Remembrance will be 7:30PM Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford, SD. Visitation will be 6-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Bonine Cemetery, Beresford.
