Douglas Dean Pastian, 58, formerly of Beresford, SD, died Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home in Sioux Falls, SD.  Due to the COVID-19 related gathering restrictions, Doug's family will have a private burial in Beresford and will host a memorial service at a later date to properly celebrate his life with his family and friends.

Doug was born August 31, 1961 to Eugene and Alice (McCaskey) Pastian in Canton, SD.  He attended Beresford elementary and high school.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy from 1978-1983.  Following his discharge, he worked various jobs.  He worked 4 years at Dealers Manufacturing and 16 years at R & L Supply in Sioux Falls, SD, where he worked until his eyesight began to fail.

Doug had many hobbies over the years.  He enjoyed Nascar, Carl Edwards or Ford Tuff, baseball, football, keeping score with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.  Even if it was just on the phone, he always enjoyed the visit.

Those grateful for sharing his life are his siblings, Harold Pastian, Sioux Falls, SD, Janice Sikkink, Sioux Falls, SD, and Jeanne Pastian, Dell Rapids, SD; nieces, Kristina Sikkink, Ariel (Pastian) O'Donnell, Vanessa Cortes, Patricia Pastian and Brianna Cortes; nephews, Justin Anderson and Nathan Cortes; as well as great-nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Ethal Pastian; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Allegra McCaskey; his father, Eugene Pastian; his mother, Alice Schroeder; his siblings, Mike Pastian, James Pastian and Patricia Pastian; and his niece, Nicole Sikkink.
