Dorothy Marie (Robinson) DePew was born August 26, 1930 in Sand Hill, AK, at her home, to parents Edgar and Mary Ethel Robinson. She died September 16, 2013 in the Centerville Care and Rehab Center at age 83. She grew up in Sand Hill, AK. During her time in AK she enjoyed singing in her church Baptist choir with her sisters. She helped her family in the cotton farming business. She was married to Harvey Cunningham and lived in Little Dixie, AK until 1956 when they moved to Martinez, CA. They had three sons - Jack Edward, Gary, and Tommy Lee. She later remarried Chuck DePew and was widowed at age 45. Several years later she moved to Fort Collins, CO and for the past 10 years has lived in Centerville, SD. Her hobbies were fishing, attending all her kids sporting events and cooking for everyone. Dorothy was mom to the world. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She worked much of her life as a cook/waitress and as a CNA at a nursing home. Her parents - Edgar and Mary Ethel Robinson, her son - Jack Cunningham, her husband - Chuck DePew, her sister - Annie Lee, her half-sisters - Aileen Eslinger and May Wallace and her halfbrother Glen Burnside preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Edna (Ed) McDaniels of Searcy, AK; son - Gary (Julie) Cunningham of Fort Collins, CO; son - Tommy (Christen) Cunningham of Centerville, SD; special "friend/daughter" - Marilyn Botts of Seaside, OR; six grandchildren - Jamie (Bill) Wreden, Jennifer Cunningham, Jessica Cunningham; Tyler (Kristen) Cunningham, Cory (Maddie) Cunningham, Carleigh Oster, and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville.
