Donna Mae Jurrens was born August 14, 1935 in Kimball, South Dakota to Bernard and Mary (Hoing) Jurrens. She entered into rest on October 25, 2020 at the Alcester Care & Rehab Center at the age of 85 years.

She married Keith Everett Merrick January 20, 1953 in Hawarden, Iowa. On November 23, 1973 she married Curtis Dean Anderberg. Donna lived in Alcester most of her life. She worked at Custom Coils and Morningside Manor in Alcester and Truck Towne in Beresford.

She enjoyed gardening and loved to read, especially history books, and collecting Barbie dolls. Donna sewed Barbie clothes for many years and sold them at the craft fair in Alcester. She was a member of the Descendants of the Mayflower Society and a longtime member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Beresford. Donna volunteered at the Alcester Care Center where she helped with Bingo, distributed communion with the Catholic residents.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Pamela Plazak (Mike) of Tampa, FL and JoAnne Sinkie (Jim) of Vermillion, SD; sons, Mark Merrick (Candice) and Mitch Merrick all of Alcester and Anthony Anderberg (Linda) of Hutchinson, MN; her grandchildren, Tammy Plazak (Joe Andress) of Tampa, FL, Josh Plazak (Sarah) of Irmo, SC, Amber Sherman (Stan) of Dakota Dunes, SD, Christopher Sinkie (Megan) of Chico, CA, Luke Merrick of Coleman, SD,  Matt Merrick (Kristin) of Tea, SD and Kaisha Merrick (Ben Pietsch) of Lisle, IL; great-grandchildren, Logan and Harper Andress, Rio and Iris Sinkie, Carley and Miles Merrick and Aiden Pietsch; and one sister, Dolores Helma of Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith Merrick, Curtis Anderberg, her brother, Duane Jurrens; two sons, infant Adrian Anderberg and Kevin Merrick; an infant daughter, RaAnne Merrick; two grandchildren, Jeremy Lewis and Heather Plazak and a daughter-in-law, Karla Merrick.

Memorial services will be held at 10AM Friday, October 30, 2020 at Wass Funeral Home in Alcester, SD with Fr. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, IA.
