Carol Alice was the second daughter born to Earl and Alice (Loe) Fletcher December 10, 1939.  She and her sister Marilyn loved music and their fathers' passion for books.  Carol especially enjoyed nature and was seen in her braided pig-tails with a chicken atop her head, often.  At age 12, her mother passed away suddenly leaving them with great sadness until Earl married Frances. Carol gained sister Marlys, now 14 just like Carol and they quickly became close friends.  At Viborg High School, her zippy spunk earned the phrase 'Here again, there again, gone'.

Donald Victor was born to Harold and Ruby (Johnson) Anderson, December 26, 1937.  His parents enjoyed teasing their Uncle Walt when his sister was hidden under a blanket and revealed to announce that he had a twin-Donna!  Don thereafter enjoyed pranks and had helped his older brother Ray throw firecrackers into an occupied outhouse. Oh, soOOooOOo many pranks! Don shared a creative spirit with his younger sister Marie.  He dreamed big, built and fixed many things.  While away in the army, he wrote letters to his sweetheart Carol who was finishing nursing school at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Don and Carol married October 15, 1960.  There is much to tell about the dash between that date and now which can be condensed to:  They treasured their family, and loved generously to those who graced their path.  They were two imperfect, quite different people, bonded together by Jesus' love.  It was by God's grace that their marriage of 57 years leaves us with a legacy of forgiveness, relentless love and generous hospitality. Don & Carol met their Lord Jesus face to face in a divine appointment on December 21, 2017.

Their parents, an infant son, great-granddaughter, Ivy Anderson, and  nephew, Michael Westegaard preceded them in death.

Don and Carol are survived by their three children, Carla (Chris) Lawrenson, Patrick Anderson and his special friend, Tarra Pudwill and Julie (Jeremy) Saugstad all of Beresford, SD; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Sam (Traci) Anderson, Maddex, Kenli, Gage and Emeri of Wentworth, SD, Elizabeth and special friend, Nathan of Sioux Falls, SD, Mikayla (Brad) Funk of Sioux City, IA, Jessica Anderson, Carson and her special friend Torin of Centerville, SD, Justine (Cody) Bye, Paisley and Easton of Lochbuie, CO, Jordyn Anderson, Kaysen of Harrisburg, SD, Josie Anderson of Estelline, SD, Jax Anderson of Estelline, SD, Victor (Amanda) Nagel of St. Paul, MN and Solomon Saugstad of Beresford, SD. Don is survived by a brother, Raymond (Jan) Anderson of Centerville; his twin sister, Donna Zweifel of Beresford and a sister, Marie (Don) Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD. Carol is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Westegaard of Salt Lake City, UT and Marlys (Jim) Knutson of Sioux Falls, SD. Together, Don and Carol are also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends met along life's path.

A celebration of life service for Don and Carol will be held at 10AM Friday, December, 29, 2017 at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday at the church with the family present from 5-7PM and a prayer service and memory share at 7PM.
