Debora Lynn Basche Fitzgerald was born 15 June 1959, the seventh child of Leslie and Dorothy (Sheetz) Basche, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Lincoln High School, class of 1977. Deb enjoyed to dance; she was a member of the Midwest Promenaders.

Deb enjoyed life - her adventures included moving to California as teenager followed by moving across the U.S. to Florida and on to Tennessee. She returned to her roots in South Dakota in 1993.

In 1997 she met James (Moose) Fitzgerald (dancing) who she decided to spend her life with. They were married September 25, 1998.

Together they traveled headlong into joint adventures. Bike Week in Daytona, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, to Shriner Conventions and to California to visit friends. She was always outgoing and ready to meet new people. Deb enjoyed sports, her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs. She attended multiple games at Wrigley Field, one outing meeting the legendary Harry Carey.

Together Deb and Moose were always ready to lend a hand and help wherever needed. They were always "cookin' up something" special. Comfort foods, a taste of Mexico, or Oriental dishes, nothing was out of bounds and they were not hesitant to share with friends and family. She was the family "Uber" driver and #1 shopping partner and travel buddy with her sister. Deb enjoyed gardening with always an array of plants in her home and outside. Deb was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Beresford. She was always DEB - wife, sister, aunt Deb and friend. Deb died October 28, 2024 at the age of 65 years.

She is survived by James "Moose" Fitzgerald of Beresford; her mother, Dorothy of Centerville; sisters, Carolyn of Georgia and Linda Cotton of Beresford; brothers, Gary Basche of Sioux Falls, Bob Basche and wife Betty of Albion, Indiana; many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends across the USA. Preceding her in death are her father, Leslie; brothers, Eugene and Roger Basche; and her father and mother-in-law, Edmond and Betty Fitzgerald.

A Celebration of Deb's Life will be 2-5PM Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Klassix, 206 N 3rd Street, Beresford, SD 57004. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her honor to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 510 S Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls, SD  57104.
