David Joe Treiber passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Bethany Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his loving wife by his side.  He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

David Treiber was born on September 15, 1946 to Karl and Johanna (Hansen) Treiber in Davenport, Iowa.  He grew up and graduated from West High School in 1964 in Davenport, IA.  He attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1968.

In 1966 he married Sarah Thiessen. They had three children Tana, Staci and Karl.

Dave and his brother Steve were owners of Treiber Construction Company; a business started by their father Karl in 1929.  Dave retired from the company in 2005.

On February 27, 1999 he married Lori (Hybertson) McConville.  They had many exciting travels alone and with family members.  After retiring Dave and Lori moved to Marco Island, FL and later Davenport, FL where they enjoyed the beaches, sunshine, sunsets, cruises and Disney World. In 2017 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD to be near Lori's parents.

Dave and Steve were very close and loved spending time together fishing, golfing and playing bridge together.   Dave was known for playing practical jokes on his brother. They were inseparable.

Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather, fantastic brother, and loyal friend.  He enjoyed going to his children's, step-children's and grandchildren's recitals, graduations, sporting events and even a trip or two to Disney World.  He was so proud of his family.

He truly cared about people and made a point to keep in touch with friends and family members.  Dave will be deeply missed.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife, Lori; his father-in-law, Ron Hybertson; his children, Tana Rosenboom, Staci Treiber and Karl (Kirsten) Treiber; step-children, Angela McConville, Kelly (Austin Lampros) McConville and Thomas (Ana) McConville; his grandchildren, Grant Rosenboom, Elsa Treiber, Dane Treiber, Nick McConville, Max McConville and Viola McConville.  His brother, Steve (Babs) Treiber; nieces and nephews, Jill (Mike) Postel, Brad (Liz) Treiber, Brett (Shannon) Treiber, Brooke (Scott) Lee, Jenny (Craig) Goettsch and Kathy (Clark) Belyea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and LeRoy Hannon and mother-in-law Jan Hybertson.

His wife, Lori, wants to express her gratitude to Bethany Nursing Home Sioux Falls and Aseracare for the loving and attentive care they provided Dave.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring in Davenport, IA.
