David P.D. Jervik was born April 3, 1951 in Hawarden, IA to parents Clarence and Beverly (Larson) Jervik. He died October 16, 2010 in Hastings, NE at the age of 59 years.

David grew up in the Norway Center area and attended rural schools and Alcester High School. He joined the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned to the Beresford area and worked at various jobs.

David was a free spirit who lived life on his own terms. The phrase he did it all directly applied to him. He rode his motorcycle on many adventures and made a lasting impression on all the people he met on his travels. He was a loyal friend and will be greatly missed.

His survivors include his wife Cindy Jervik of Hastings, NE; his son Kelsey of North Platte, NE and daughter Shelly of Texas; his twin sister Deb Sommervold and husband Arvid of Brookings; two brothers, Don Jervik and wife Ruth Ann of Beresford and Jim Jervik of Hudson; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, October 21 at Lands Lutheran Church, rural Canton. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
