Daryl Glenn Runion, 78, of Sioux Falls, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy Runion and Ethol (Wittrup) Runion. Daryl is survived by his sister Elaine (Runion) Burgstahler; and his beloved bride or 55 years Kathy (Skogman) Runion. Children Matthew and Amy (Schrantz) Runion; Dave and Emmy (Bertsch) Runion; Beth and Bryan Wells; and Lina Joy Runion. Grandchildren Levi and Kate Runion; Grace, Micah, and Joey Runion; Livi, Nick, Elise, Noah and Lincoln Wells; and Nehemiah Runion. His family was his pride and joy. Papa was beloved. A true servant leader striving to live out his deep and permeating faith. Wherever you go, there you are. Those around him felt his deep love for Jesus and his desire to serve Him by serving others.  Do you know that you know that you know?

After a short stint in the insurance industry with Prudential, he met his true calling in fulltime vocational ministry. With pastor stints spanning 30+ years in LaMoille IL, Kulm ND, and Big Springs SD he 'retired' from fulltime pastorates. For the past 12 years he and Kathy served multiple churches in South Dakota and Minnesota on interim and pulpit supply roles. Relationship was a constant and consistent focus, starting with his God and spilling into the people around him.

The Children's Shelter of Cebu held a huge place in Daryl's heart and the family prefers memorials be directed to this life-saving ministry. Merely a suggestion.

The whole Runion family is truly grateful for the outpouring of words of support and gifts of time and relationship from those who loved our husband, father, and grandfather well.
