Darlene Lois (Larson) Arends was born February 7, 1929 to Alvin and Edna (Henricksen) Larson.  Darlene passed away September 15, 2020 at Bethesda Home at the age of 91.

Darlene attended Pioneer School.  She graduated from Beresford High School in 1947.  After high school, Darlene worked in a grocery store and Bethesda Home.  Later, she worked in the lunch room at school. On February 12, 1949, Darlene married Wendell Arends at the Methodist church.  They were blessed with three children, Roger, Edith and Leonard.

She loved to cook, bake and garden.  Darlene was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life, are her daughter, Edith; her grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Amber, Amy, Echo and Ashley; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister.  Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell, her parents; and her sons, Roger and Leonard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
