Daniel Ray Andre was born May 4, 1945 in Yankton, South Dakota to Ralph and Iona (Johnson) Andre. He died November 24, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home in Beresford, SD at the age of 75 years, six months and 20 days.

Dan was raised in rural Wakonda, SD and worked with heavy equipment in construction in Kansas, Iowa and Wyoming before returning to South Dakota. He married Kathleen (Kathy) Hendrix on June 17, 1967 in Sioux Falls. Dan worked for the City of Beresford for 35 years, retiring from the Street, Sewer & Water Department as Superintendent in 2010. He enjoyed camping with their camper family in Platte, SD, fishing adventures on the Missouri river, waterskiing when he was younger, long drives in his red Chevy pickup, mowing the lawn, plowing the snow and watching the Chiefs and NASCAR. Dan loved cheering for his grandkids at their sporting events, naps, and long conversations in the garage with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy; daughters, Angie Andre-Lyle and Belinda (David) Twite; granddaughters, Brittany (Ryan) Huenink, Taryn Twite, Arianna Lyle (Theo Hommen) and Bailey Twite; grandsons, Anthony (Brittany) Lyle and Jared Lyle; great-grandsons, Tate, Oliver, Murphy, Brooks and Lucien; great-granddaughters, Cora, Evy, and Alora who is due in Jan 2021; his siblings, Dave (Carla) Andre, Terry (Diane) Andre, Jeannee (Russell) Anderson, John Andre and Sheryl (Scott) Bachtell; brother-in-law, Leroy Brown; many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends, Wayne and Sheila Fletcher. Wayne and Dan worked together for many years for the City of Beresford. They enjoyed many fishing trips, NASCAR races and conversations that will last a lifetime. Wayne was Dan's best friend and they helped each other through everything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Eleanor Dunne, sister, Jeanette Brown and sister-in-law, Suzanne Andre.

Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford, SD with burial to follow at Beresford City Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed at Facebook: Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Visitation with the family present will be 6-8PM Friday, Nov. 27 ^th at the church with a prayer service at 7PM.
