Obituary

Conrad Emil Johnson, 83, passed away on June 2, 2009 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.

He was born July 17, 1925 at Geddes, SD to parents J. Emil and Hilma (Frick) Johnson.

At the age of ten he moved with his family to the Beresford area in rural Clay County where he attended Newdale School. He married Ardis Osthus on June 21, 1951 at Centerville, SD. They lived on a farm south of Beresford throughout their married life, where he was a dairy farmer.

His church and family were very important to him. He was a member of Dalesburg Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir, served on the church council and was an usher. He was a member of the Farmers Union and served on the Cleveland rural school board.

He is survived by his wife Ardis of Beresford; daughter Darla (Eugene) Bult of Sioux Falls; two granddaughters: Andrea (Scott) Sukut and Megan Bult and great granddaughter Sophia Sukut, all of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Ona Abraham and Maxine Ellingson both of Alcester; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Marcene Johnson in 2006, his parents, 2 brothers, Milton and Eldon, 4 sisters Marcella Lapour, Ethel Hakl, Myrtle Solberg and Evelyn Ekren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 5 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
