Connie Rae Brosz passed away on October 12, 2011 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD after receiving treatment for several years for multiple myeloma. She was born November 24, 1935 in Yankton, SD to M.J.(Jack) and Mildred (Garvey) Balfany. She graduated from Yankton High School, attended Northern State College and Southern State Teachers College. She married Merlyn Brosz on May 29, 1958 and taught school in Scotland, SD before moving to Beresford in 1968. Connie was a teacher in the Beresford School System before she started teaching pre-school, first at McGill Kiddie Prep and then in her own business. She spent many hours sitting around the big white table teaching pre-schoolers the correct way to hold a pencil and how to write their numbers and letters correctly. She retired from teaching in 2005. Her family gatherings, holiday dinners and hunting parties the more the merrier made many great memories to treasure. Connie leaves behind her daughter, Lori of Sioux Falls; son Jeff and Roxy and Stefanie Johnson of Beresford; brother, Tom (Lynn) Balfany; sister-in-law friend, Jane Balfany; mother, Mildred Balfany and sister. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Peg Jackson and Carole Brosz as well as many nieces and nephews. Her father, Jack; husband, Merlyn; brother, Jack Balfany and nephew, Brian Balfany preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed, but we know that somewhere there is one heck of a reunion going on which will be followed by a card game (she will put a stop to any cheating) and then maybe a little BINGO!! Rest in Peace, Big Mama, you put up a good fight!!!! A Service of Remembrance for Connie Brosz will be held 10AM Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the United Church of Christ in Beresford, SD. Condolences may be mailed to 1604 East Northstar Lane, Sioux Falls, SD 57108
