Clara M. Skotvold was born November 20, 1918 in rural Centerville, SD to parents Christian and Kirsten (Anderson) Skotvold. She died December 11, 2012 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 94 years and 21 days. Clara attended Mt. Zion rural school. She married Floyd Falk on February 17, 1945. The couple farmed until 1969, when they moved to Beresford. After moving to Beresford, Clara was employed at Bethesda Nursing Home and Woodfield Center until her retirement in 1990. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Clara lived a life full of joy, shared with friends and family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a biological grandmother to nine but she was "Grandma" to all, including the many friends she made throughout the years. Grandma touched the lives of many throughout the years and will be missed by all. Among the many grateful to have shared her life are her son Larry Falk and his wife Gayle of St. Cloud, MN, her daughter Cheryl Janssen and her husband Glen of Beresford; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, a son Marvin, a daughter Kay, one sister, three brothers, and her parents. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Friday, December 14, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery, rural Centerville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
